由於挖掘機加長臂比標準臂更長、更重、動作慣性更大，因此，操作時比標準臂要輕，各操縱過程應平穩，動作不宜過快、過猛，不宜緊急製動。挖鬥容量按出廠標準配置使用，嚴禁更換使用大容量的挖鬥。
